Salted Caramel Sauce

Hubby had a sweet tooth the other night, but all we had in the house was a boxed mix of pound cake!

Well that just wouldn’t do so hubby made a really basic Salted Caramel Sauce to go over it and it was to die for!

So good in fact…

I may have had a second slice! Yum!

Salted Caramel Sauce

  • 1c sugar
  • 1/2c heavy or whipping cream
  • 11/2Tbs unsalted butter
  • 1/2tsp salt

How to make it

In large, heavy skillet, cook sugar over med heat, swirling the pan occasionally, until sugar completely dissolves and syrup is light amber color, about 8 mins.

Remove pan from heat; gradually whisk in cream. (Mixture will bubble vigorously). Whisk till smooth. Whisk in butter and salt till butter melts.  Let cool till warm.  Makes 1 cup
